Anglo-German War 39-45 (AGW) Version 1.1 January 21st, 2006 *************************************************************************** Manual errata: a. 3.1.2.9 (mistakenly labelled as 3.1.1.9 Air Rebase). Unit range is tripled, not doubled, for air rebase. b. 6.3.4.9 Add sentence to part 1: Range is equal to three times the MF displayed. c. 6.6.5.11 There is a -2 (not -1) modifier for each additional HQ, over the required one HQ, that is controlling units in a single attack. d. Note section 6.2.6.3. Do not try to save a game during the Computer Opponent or CO Completes Phase. e. 6.4.3.5 The combat counter is brown for Allied attacks an grey for Axis attacks, with a light green border. f. 6.4.3.2.3j Ground, air and naval units are all considered in determining flank advantage. g. 6.4.1.9 under Move Costs Based on Terrain/Weather table. The MF of the top unit in a stack is used for stack moves. h. 6.3.4.5.2 The hex plus ZOC hexes for Air Interdiction operations negate enemy Strategic RR moves. i. 6.4.2.4.3 The Strategic RR move path must not pass through an Air interdiction operation hex or its ZOC hexes. j. 6.4.3.3.5 If the unit does not have supply points to give, then it is marked as out of supply for the rest of the turn. k. 6.2.2.3 Replace second sentence with: Supply paths are a string of adjacent hexes along a railroad or Wilderness Road from a supply source hex to a railhead, and then a string of hexes from the railhead hex to the unit receiving the supply. The railroad part of the supply path must be free of enemy ZOC's. The non-railroad part of the supply path is calculated as if a truck unit with an MF of 8 was moving from the unit to the railhead or supply source hex. l. 6.7.2.4 The third field is not used, and can be any value from 1 to 7, with 7 used exclusviely for temporary supply sources. *************************************************************************** Reference Card errata: a. Combat Modifiers, Defenders, Defender in city hex. Should be +1, +2, (city pts x 2) plus 4. *************************************************************************** AGW installation: a. Players should right click on the AGW icon, and type in the directory that AGW was installed in. The AGW install program has been changed so that AGW v1.1 new installs will automatically start in the directory used for installs. b. If the default installation directory is not used (c:\agw), or if the Windows mplayer2.exe is not in its original directory, then the music files must be manually moved to c:\agw. Additionally, the Windows media player must be located at c:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe for AGW music to work. *************************************************************************** Bug Fixes: 1. AGW sets display to terrain only when the Computer Opponent is active to maintain FOW. Previously, enemy units were displayed fully despite FOW. AGW also sets terrain only for the Complete Phase operation. 2. The z key can now be used in place of mouse clicking on the Next Step icon. 3. City defense in combat is now set to regiment +1, brigade +2, and divisions get ( 2 x city points) plus 4. Previously divisions got double that. 4. The Completed Ops display attribute now works at high and mid level maps, instead of low level only. Only units set by the Set Unit Ops Complete operation are displayed by this attribute. Units that have completed their operations are displayed normally (e.g. MF displayed as an "M"). 5. Spain Joins the Axis no longer locks the game up, and works according to the rules. See manual section 6.6.16. 6. Virtual Gibraltor and Virtual USA are now marked as Allied supply sources for all scenarios. Only Allied units are allowed in these hexes in AGW. No Axis invasions of these hexes are allowed, since they are outside the AGW scope. 7. Opening a scenario via filename now loads the correct city points, expected and current. 8. AGW prevents the Change Stack Order Op if a HighCmd HQ is in the stack to maintain supply allocation mechanics. 9. Player is now queried if attempting to do a "Save As" which will overwrite an existing file. 10. Blue, green and yellow selection boxes around units are now displayed for stack displays and OOB displays. 11. Combat Counters now have a light green border in order to find them quicker. 12. Static Deployments are now cancelled for friendly units by selecting a Digin operation on any unit of that country. 13. Fixed terrain array railroad error at hex 197,60. Note that all custom scenarios must be rebuilt after applying this patch. 14. Changed Scenario Builder such that it now accepts both PanzerGrenadier and Panzergrenadier as valid unit types. 15. Air units performing Air Ground Support attacks now get a +1 air/mech attack modifier. 16. Ground units that perform airborne drops no longer get an attack modifier in combat for Attacker Did Not Move This Phase. Ground units that perform Naval Assaults continue to not receive the modifier. 17. Fixed UNDO operation for Move to Attack, Move No Attack and Move to Exploit. The fix included supply points. Note only the last move can be undone. 18. Removed UNDO operation for Strategic RR Moves. However, fixed supply points for Strategic RR Moves (was one, now zero for all units including HQ), which allows the equivalent of an UNDO operation by multiple moves along the railroad by the same unit without supply point penalty. Note that once a unit performs a Strategic RR Move, then it no longer has the ability to perform the other types of move operations for that phase. 19. Added new Move operation called Move, Major River. It is a one hex Move to Attack, except the unit can have performed no attack before the move. It is for crossing Major Rivers at non-road or railrod crossing hexes. It has a 60% chance of success. No UNDO operation allowed. Failure causes the unit to be marekd as already moved, already in combat, out of supply and fatigued as if it fought three combats in phase. 20. An Air Supply operation now delivers 3 supply points to the top three units in the hex, rather than 7 supply points to the top unit. 21. The defense modifiers in combat for forest, swamp, mountains, bocage and semi-urban hexes are now DF minus combat losses. Default case is +2 (air, naval). The modifiers were regiment (+3), brigade (+5), and division (+10). Note that AGW normally displays AF and DF minus combat losses at the bottom of each unit. 22. Air/naval units performing Air Rebase and Naval Move to Port operations that are not destroyed during air/naval combat are allowed to continue to their destination hex regardless of air and naval combat. 23. Display OOB and Highlight OOB operations now work on the top unit in the stack. Also, Change HQ Link now changes link to the top HQ unit in a stack. 24. The ten percent probablity of destruction of a naval unit during combat is now applied per unit instead of per stack for air - naval combat. Naval - naval combat already worked properly (per unit, not per stack). *************************************************************************** Order of Battle 0.
